It was November 2014, when i went to Bali for a study
tour with all of my high school friends. It was my first time in Bali. We went
to Bali by bus and it was really a tiring trip, to be honest. We went from
Depok in Monday, and we arrived in Bali two days later.
First destination that we
visited was Lovina Beach, where we can see dolphins up-close. We supposed to be
there by sunrise, to see the sunrise and the dolphins. But, unfornately we
can't. My bus, specifically. My bus was the last bus of four busses that
crossed the Bali strait. And then, we ended up arrriving there around 10am. And
it was starting to get sunny. However, we were still really excited about
seeing the dolphins swim around us, up close.
We went to see the dolphins by riding a small motor
ship, called jukung. The ship was
filled with around six people and a helmsman. The other five passangers were my
best friends and we decided to be on the same ship together. We drove farther
to the sea until we started seeing some of the dolphins appeared. They swam
happily around us and the other ships filled with the other people, mostly my
friends, who also wanted to see the dolphins up close. We were all very happy
because we got to see lots of dolphins up close.
Then, we visited a restaurant where we ate our
breakfast, and after that, we visited Bedugul Lake, which is located directly
below the famous Ulun Danu Temple.
When we got there, it was really crowded. It was
filled with so many people. Most of them were students like me and my friends,
who also went to Bedugul Lake as a place to visit for their study tour. Because
Bedugul Lake is located in the highest place in Bali, it was chilly there. But
it was absolutely amazing. My friends and I had lunch and pray dzuhur there. The
only thing that I hated was the crowded lunch. The queue for the food was a
mess. There was the queue in one side and in the other side too. Nevertheless,
it was really beautiful. I love it regardless of the very cloudy day that we had
when we were there. And I got the chance to take some pictures of the beautiful
scenery, with my friends and teachers.
The next day, we went to Tanjung Benoa
Island and the Turtle Island. At the Turtle Island, we had a chance to see a
lot of turtles from the oldest to the youngest. We also saw another animals
such as eagles and snakes. We enjoyed taking pictures of those animals.
The next day, we went to see the Barong Dance. This
time, we had to wear our school uniform to show where do we came from and what
is the name of our school. The dances we saw were not just the Barong Dance, we
also watched the Pendet Dance that was performed by two women.
The next place we visit was the Tampak Siring Temple.
This time, two of my friends and I had a special task. Our task was to
interview a foreigner. In our first try, we met an Australian man but he
politely declined our interview. He said he would really love to be interviewed
by us but because his wife had been waiting for him outside. Finally, we met a
Spanish man who was very nice and willing to be interviewed by us. During our
interview, we found out that he had learned a Balinese traditional dance back
in Spain. He also showed us what he had learned, because we kindly asked him to
show us.

Our study tour in Bali finished by visiting Tanah Lot Temple and Kuta Beach. The Tanah Lot Temple was located in the middle of the sea. Actually we were allowed to get inside the temple, but I didn’t get inside. Instead, I was busy taking pictures of the cliffs and the waves that were crashing by. It was really beautiful. When we were in Kuta, my friends and I took a lot of pictures also. Because, it’s the famous Kuta Beach! We also saw a lot of people surfed the wave which was really high.

In general all, my study tour to Bali is my favorite
tour so far, because I travelled with my best friends. It was really
unforgettable and memorable tour.
