On April 15th, 2017. Me and my friends went to Galeri Nasional Indonesia (National Gallery of Indonesia) which located in Gambir, Central Jakarta. From the history of the building to the upcoming art exhibition that will be held in Galeri Nasional Indonesia.

He told us that at first that Galeri Nasional Indonesia was not an art exhibition building. Built in 1817 under the Van Rijk Foundation. The building was used for all girls school during the Dutch colonialism in Indonesia. Some parts of the building was not only used as school, but also as dormitories. In 1990, the building was taken over by the Indonesian government because the building can be used as a museum also an art exhibition building. Now, the buildings of Galeri Nasional Indonesia have two functions, as a museum and an art gallery.
The function of the museum is also for telling the visitors about the growth of Indonesian arts from the pilot until today.

The Logo of Galeri Nasional Indonesia
Galeri Nasional Indonesia's logo is a continuation of Manuarta's sculpture that tells us about waves. The sculpture's shape is round, and the center have some kind of human figures. It's actually a human figures who are synergic, constantly moving, dynamic and etc. So, the logo inspired by it. But, they changed the shape into cubical shape.

Us with Mr. Putra, The Guide.
