Tugas Penulisan Kepariwisataan - Television Programs Worth and Not Worth Watching

            There are lots of programs on television nowadays, starting from the news to the TV series. Many channels are available. People can choose to watch the programs that are broadcasted by local channels or the international channels. However, not all of those programs are worth watching, no matter how good the channel is. In Indonesia, the programs that are worth watching are very few. Many of them are not worth watching, even some of the news. And programs that are not worth watching is soap opera series

            The TV channels show a lot of programs, including programs on science, entertainments, talk-shows, and, of-course, the news. Science programs are usually educational. Some talk-shows are good too. And the news, many of them are good to watch. We can see in the news report three times a day and also in a breaking news. Some are really informative and are useful for the people. Such as, informations on traffic and weather, or informations on regulation changes. But many of them are not worth watching, such as a mere birthday party of a celebrity’s baby. What a waste.

            Another programs worth mentioning is soap opera series. The Indonesian soap operas is the show that many people love and many other also hate. Many of them contain good theme and education at the starting episodes. But then, have a lot of episodes with the story that are out of the topic. Many of the soap operas also have similar stories, such as the problems of good people betrayed by the bad ones. Very boring.

            Although some soap operas is really interesting and fun to watch, but they usually are broadcasted around six to nine pm. The time which is supposed to be used by students for studying, reading the subject books, reviewing about what their teacher’s say, or even doing their home-works. The soap operas supposed to air when the students are done with their study, so they can watch without forgetting their responsibility as a student.

            In the outset, people will choose what they want to watch and what they don’t. It’s up to them. But, there is nothing wrong to look over once again if the programs that we are watching are good for us, if the programs are good for our children, if the programs contents very educating or not.
